Svetlana Shifrin-Douglas, MD is Board Certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism. Since 2003 she has been practicing in the field of Endocrinology. She has been providing consultations to patients with endocrine disorders and conducting research as an Assistant Professor at one of the Pennsylvania major referral center - Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for 7 years.

She also has provided outpatient and inpatient care for patients with thyroid diseases, bone diseases, polycystic ovary disease, endocrine cancers and tumors (thyroid cancers, pituitary and adrenal tumors), abnormalities of water metabolism, hirsutism, obesity, and weight control problems. She provided consultations to patients with difficult conditions who were referred from community by private endocrinologists.

Being an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, she has provided training for fellows in endocrinology. She had been actively involved in the education of medical residents, interns and students. She has also participated in cutting edge research in field of Endocrinology and Metabolism. She has a published article in one of the top peer-reviewed endocrine journals, Thyroid.
